Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a 4-year BE/B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering degree from an AICTE/UGC approved college/institute or a recognized university.
  • The required disciplines for each post are as follows:
    • Trainee/Project Engineer (Electronics): Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Telecommunication / Telecommunication.
    • Trainee/Project Engineer (Mechanical): Mechanical Engineering.
    • Trainee/Project Engineer (Computer Science): Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology.
    • Project Engineer (Electrical): Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
    • Project Engineer (Civil): Civil Engineering.
  • Candidates from General, EWS, OBC (NCL), SC, ST, and PwBD categories must have a Pass Class in their qualifying degree.

Experience

  • Trainee Engineer-I: No prior experience is required (NIL).
  • Project Engineer-I: A minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience is mandatory as of August 1, 2025. Academic, teaching, or research experience will not be considered. However, one year of completed apprenticeship training will be counted as experience.

Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025)

  • Trainee Engineer-I: The upper age limit is 28 years.
  • Project Engineer-I: The upper age limit is 32 years.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST candidates: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) with a minimum of 40% disability: 10 years (in addition to their category-specific relaxation).

📄 Application Process:

  1. Pre-Registration: Before attending the walk-in selection, you must pre-register online using the provided Google Form link. This is a mandatory step.
  2. Fill the Google Form: Click on the registration link and fill in all the required details accurately. It is advisable to use Google Chrome for a smooth experience.
  3. Submit and Print: After filling in the details, click the “SUBMIT” button. You will receive a copy of your filled form in your registered email. Take a printout of this form.
  4. Attach Photograph: Affix a recent color passport-size photograph on the printed Google Form.
  5. Download Application Form: Download the separate detailed Application Form from the BEL website.
  6. Fill Application Form: Fill out this application form completely.
  7. Gather Documents: Arrange all the required documents (original and one set of photocopies) as listed in the notification. This includes your educational certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificates, and ID proof.

🧠 Selection Process:

The selection process is straightforward and merit-based, designed to identify the most suitable candidates efficiently.

Tier 1: Written Test

  • All candidates who pre-register online and meet the eligibility criteria will be called for a Written Test.
  • For Trainee Engineer-I: The test will be for 100 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1/4 mark for each incorrect answer.
  • For Project Engineer-I: The test will be for 85 marks. There is no negative marking for this post.
  • The test will be held in Hyderabad. Your Aadhaar number will serve as your Roll Number.

Tier 2: Personal Interview (Only for Project Engineer-I)

The interviews are scheduled for the day after the written test at the BEL factory in Hyderabad.

Candidates who clear the Written Test for the Project Engineer-I post will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview.

The interview carries 15 marks.

Candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio (for every one vacancy, five candidates will be called for the interview) based on their performance in the Written Test.
